2018 Volunteer field assistant

Curriculum Vitae

I have had a life-long interest in ornithology and wildlife conservation; which led me to study Biosciences at Canterbury Christ Church University, with a strong focus on ecology and conservation in my final year. During my undergraduate thesis I investigated the effects of habitat structural variables on avian diversity, distribution, and abundance in an area of tropical dry forest in Southern Mexico. As a result of this, I have gained experience in a variety of surveying techniques for birds and vegetation. During my free time between studying, I have volunteered working with wildlife conservation groups in both the UK and abroad, acquiring experience with a range of different taxa and habitat types. Following my graduation in 2018, I intend to continue gaining work experience in ecology and working towards obtaining a bird ringing license in the UK. In the near future I wish to go on to postgraduate study in ecology.
